The variety belongs to the cigar tobacco group (Dark air-cured). It has received wide recognition in breeding programs worldwide as a donor of the resistance gene to necrotic strains of Potato virus Y.

In European Community regulatory documents, the variety was classified as category B tobacco. Quality requirements for the product included the presence of fully mature leaves with a dense texture, brown in color, with no drying defects.

The variety was applied in the industrial production of cigar tobacco and was used as breeding material for developing disease-resistant hybrids.
