The plant reaches a height of 20–40 cm. It has a bushy, well-branched form, sometimes described as sprawling. Leaves are lanceolate, green in color. A distinctive feature is the reddish buds, from which cup-shaped flowers develop, remaining open during the daytime.
The flowering period lasts from June to September, sometimes until October. The variety prefers sunny sites with well-drained, poor soils. It exhibits resistance to drought, frost, and Verticillium wilt, while being sensitive to excess winter moisture. The plant is not prone to lodging.
