The Magyar variety is used as a subject for scientific research on essential oil quality and organoleptic properties. When compared with other varieties such as Francia, it was determined that Magyar possesses a unique aroma profile, which is defined by expert sensory analysis methods and instrumental means.
In experimental work at MATE University, super-elite seed material is used when studying this variety. At present, detailed data on maturity group, plant height, as well as resistance to diseases and lodging are absent in open scientific publications.
