The leaves of the variety have a green color of medium or dark intensity without anthocyanin coloration, while the leaf auricles are colored with anthocyanin. The flag leaf in the early stages occupies an erectoid position, later becoming vertical or semi-vertical. Leaf length varies from short to medium, width — from medium to wide.

Anthocyanin coloration is present on the keel of the spikelet glume. The plants do not exhibit male sterility. The variety was created by breeder Eugenio Gentinetta using backcrossing and induced mutagenesis methods to improve the characteristics of traditional varieties.
