The BC 2 variety is a hybrid obtained by crossing SB and SC. It belongs to the category of morphine poppy varieties and was intended for use in the pharmaceutical industry, in particular, to increase the efficiency of morphine production at the Alkaloida plant in Hungary.

Detailed information on the morphological characteristics of the variety, such as plant height or disease resistance, is not available in open sources. In scientific literature, the term BC 2 is often found as a designation for a backcross generation in breeding studies; however, in Hungarian registers of the 1960s, it is recorded specifically as an independent variety.
