Variety description

The YAPRUBY variety is an interspecific hybrid related to Penstemon barbatus. The plant has a compact bush form with short internodes, short flower stalks, and developed basal branching. The foliage is semi-evergreen, and green seed pods persist until the onset of frost.
The flowers of the variety are ruby-red in color with a white throat and face outward, arranged around the flower stalk. The flowering period lasts from May to November, provided that faded inflorescences are removed. The variety is resistant to powdery mildew and exhibits winter hardiness at temperatures down to -12...-15°C.
The plant is intended for decorative use in borders, mass plantings, and container gardening.
