The plant has an upright habit and lanceolate leaf shape. The flowers are gathered in loose terminal inflorescences on stiff flower stalks; characteristic dark pink stripes are visible inside the throat.
The variety is intended for ornamental use in hardiness zones 7–10. The flowering period continues from late spring to summer, sometimes until the first frosts. The plant requires sunny exposure and well-drained soils, moderately resistant to heat and drought.
