The variety DCAS298, known in trade as Cascadias Rim Magenta, is intended for container gardening and landscape design. The plant forms an upright bush with elliptical leaves that have a characteristic surface texture.

The flowers of the variety are simple, funnel-shaped, and slightly smaller than average. The main color of the petals is purple (RHS code 71A) with a distinct light margin at the edge (RHS code 10D). The sepals have anthocyanin coloration, and the anthers are yellow.
