Phacelia tanacetifolia Benth. Lacy phacelia · Agricultural · bred by Poznanska Hodowla Roslin Sp. z o.o

Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is characterized by rapid biomass formation and plant height from 50 to 90 cm. It possesses good drought tolerance and withstands autumn frosts down to –8°C.

The plant effectively suppresses weed development due to rapid leaf canopy closure and reduces the population of certain nematode species by 15–20%. The crop is a highly productive honey plant with a honey yield potential of more than 400 kg per hectare.

The variety is used as a green manure to improve soil structure and enrich it with organic matter, and also acts as a phytosanitary break crop in crop rotations, allowing for the avoidance of common pathogen accumulation.
