The Phalaenopsis Dragon's Gold variety is used as a parent form in the creation of new commercial hybrids. Its genetic material has been utilized in the breeding of such hybrids as Phal. I-Hsin Venus, as well as in breeding work involving Phal. Taipei Gold and Phal. amboinensis to obtain clones, for example, the "24K" form.

Plants of this hybrid group are capable of frequent and prolonged flowering. Some representatives of the line possess a fragrance. In retail, the variety is represented by various flowering forms, including peloric varieties.
