The plant has a standard rosette of light green, glossy, oblong or rounded leaves 20–25 cm in length. Flower stalks usually reach a height of 62–80 cm; the variety is prone to forming two or more flower stalks.

The flowers are characterized by a purple-lilac color with a darker lip, sometimes featuring a reticulate pattern and a matte finish on the reverse side of the petals. The variety is intended for container cultivation and is distinguished by a long flowering period.

The plant is sensitive to drafts and excessive waterlogging. Specimens sold in the 'butterfly' form are an individual flowering trait of a specific plant, rather than a stable varietal characteristic.
