The Cartagena variety is a bush green bean type of Phaseolus vulgaris. The plant forms a fairly large bush with developed foliage. The variety belongs to the early-maturing category and is intended for harvesting in the summer period.
The dark green pods are characterized by slow seed development within the pod, which extends the period of maintaining market quality. The variety has high resistance to bean common mosaic virus and bacterial blight caused by Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola.
The plant possesses pronounced heat tolerance, maintaining flower stability at high temperatures. The variety is suitable for cultivation on heavy soils, however, it is not recommended for growing on light, fast-drying soils and requires limitation of overhead irrigation.
