The variety is a historic local plant from the Frisian Woods region, shaped by years of selection by farmers. It is a bush bean capable of tolerating adverse weather conditions, including cold springs and maritime winds.
The seeds are small, lemon-yellow or yellowish-brown in color with a dark eye. The harvest takes place in September–October. The plant possesses genetic hardiness, and the ripening period can be uneven. The variety is considered genetically close or identical to the Groninger Strogele variety.
