ActivePhaseolus vulgaris L. · Common bean
PRZEDSIEBIORSTWO NASIENNICTWA
10 August 2026
The plant is a climbing, tall-growing variety. At an immature stage, the pods are wide and flat, green in color with pink spots, which darken to a purple hue as they dry. The seeds are rounded and beige in color with characteristic purple spots across the surface.
The variety allows for two sowing dates: in April with subsequent harvest until August, and in August with harvest until November-December. The produce is valued for the absence of tough fibers and the retention of a delicate texture even as the pods mature. The beans are used as a traditional ingredient in local cuisine at various stages of maturity, including immature, 'shelly', and dry pods, as well as dry grain.
