The Sahara variety (selection number HMX 1945) is a bush bean with an upright plant architecture of medium to high growth intensity. It is an open-pollinated variety intended for green pod production.
Technical maturity of the beans occurs 58 days after emergence. The pods are characterized by a smooth surface, dark green color, and a sieve size of 3–4. The variety is distinguished by a high ability to set fruit in hot climatic conditions.
The plant possesses high resistance to Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV), rust, and common blight. Intermediate resistance to Beet curly top virus (BCTV), halo blight, and bacterial brown spot has also been recorded.
