The variety belongs to the navy bean group and reaches maturity in approximately 100 days, depending on growing conditions. The plant is characterized by a semi-erect to semi-vining growth habit.

The variety possesses genetic resistance to bean common mosaic virus due to the presence of the I gene, and also exhibits resistance to most common North American strains of rust. It is adapted to the conditions of the northern plains regions of the USA.
