The variety is a hybrid of a "witch's broom" (Picea abies f. globosa) and a form with purple needles (Picea abies f. cruenta). The mature plant reaches a height of 1 meter by 10 years and about 2 meters by 30 years. Annual growth is 5–7 cm.
The plant is used in decorative gardening and is suitable for rock gardens, alpine gardens, and container cultivation. To maintain varietal characteristics, vegetative propagation is used, most often by grafting.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
