The name 100 giorni is a synonym for the Italian variety Lavagna. The plant is characterized by a height of 130–140 cm and requires the use of supports, such as stakes or netting.
The pods of the variety are straight, light green in color, and 7–9 cm long. Each pod contains 9–10 round seeds with a smooth surface, intended for fresh consumption.
There is also a separate local variety, Pisello Centogiorni, from the Campania region, which is distinguished by a height of 170–200 cm and is not the Lavagna variety, despite the similar name.
