The variety belongs to the group of sugar peas, which lack coarse fibers in the pod valves. It is an heirloom variety with a history spanning over a century. During the breeding process, work was carried out to introduce genes for resistance to downy mildew.
The pods are distinguished by their very large size, reaching a length of 18 cm. They are flat, succulent, and delicate in taste. The plant may have flowers with a pinkish hue.
