Variety description

The Cabestrón variety reaches a height of 1.5 meters and is characterized by very good lodging resistance. The grain is white and small-calibered; the pods have a low susceptibility to shattering.

The plant is considered an undemanding variety capable of adapting to cold regions and poor soils. It is suitable for cultivation under both rainfed conditions and in irrigated areas.

The primary purpose of the variety is forage. It is used to produce biomass in mixed sowings with cereal crops, and is also used in crop rotations as a green manure or for ground cover.
