The variety is characterized as early or very early. The plant has a short, strong stem. The seed is smooth and round in shape; the peas are light green and small.

The variety possesses resistance to Fusarium wilt and low susceptibility to top yellows. In some years, a tendency towards secondary flowering was noted. Yield was rated as good.

In British trial reports, the Cicero line is mentioned as a differential standard for assessing disease resistance.
