Variety description

10 August 2026

The Emerald variety is mentioned in European variety lists and genetic resource classifiers. In scientific literature, it often appears in studies dedicated to the differentiation of pea varieties using molecular, biochemical, and morphological markers, and is used as a standard for describing morphological traits, such as starch grain shape.

The variety was bred in the Czech Republic and was used in breeding work as a parental line for the development of other varieties, in particular Kamelot. Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as maturity group, plant height, or disease resistance indicators, are not detailed in publicly available publications for this variety.
