The variety belongs to the fodder pea type and has a conventional leaf structure, which distinguishes it from modern semi-leafless forms. It was intended for forage production.

In scientific literature, Parvus is known as an object for studying induced mutagenesis. Based on it, genes for symbiotic nitrogen fixation responsible for nodule formation were identified.
