The variety belongs to traditional Swedish local types of pea and was historically formed in the Glimåkra/Balingslöv region. It is included in the Swedish national list of varieties for conservation and is maintained in the Nordic Genetic Resource Center under number NGB 17873.
Like other representatives of the grey pea group, the variety was traditionally used as a food legume crop. Specialized morphological descriptions and yield indicators are not presented in available publications.
