The variety was obtained by the pure line selection method from the F2 generation. It belongs to the vining peas vegetable type, produces wrinkled seeds and is intended primarily for canning or freezing.
The plant belongs to the late maturity group with a stem height of 60 to 90 cm. The produce is characterized by a medium or large pea size, uniformity of ripening and a saturated dark color.
The variety possesses resistance to Fusarium wilt (race 1) and has been used in breeding programs as a source of resistance to pea enation mosaic virus.
