The plant is a compact, rounded bush 30 to 45 cm in height. The succulent-type leaves possess an intense scent that intensifies upon mechanical damage or friction. The inflorescences have a lavender color.
The species is thermophilic and tolerates hot conditions well. In warm climatic zones, it exhibits perennial properties, however, in most regions, it is cultivated as an annual plant. Resistance to gray mold, slugs, and caterpillars is noted.
