The Acqua di Serino variety is a representative of the historical biodiversity of the Vesuvius region and is not the result of modern industrial breeding. Traditionally, the fruits are used both fresh and for processing into jams, juices, and pulp.
The fruits are characterized by an orange-yellow skin, sometimes with red shades or spots, and sweet flesh. The trees are adapted to specific volcanic soils rich in minerals and potassium, and require good illumination. Varieties of this group are distinguished by a high perishability of the fruits.
