The Muscardina variety, also known as Moscarella or Moscardella, is a traditional sweet cherry from the Apulian municipalities of Castellana Grotte, Putignano, and Turi. In biology, the term "muscardine" is more frequently encountered as a name for fungal diseases of insects, but in this context, it refers specifically to fruit trees.

The fruits of the variety are small, with a weight of 4.0 to 5.9 g, and have a kidney shape. The skin is red on a light yellow background. The flesh is white-cream in color, characterized by a tender texture and being semi-freestone. The peduncle is thin and of medium length, and the stone is small and elliptical in shape.
