The variety was developed by breeders at the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) of Japan. Genetically, the variety is the result of crossing the parental forms Nishino Hakutou and Akatsuki.
Fruits of this variety have white flesh and belong to the category of peaches with a red blush. The variety ripens at the end of August and is intended for commercial use; its textural properties and flesh softening processes have been studied.
In scientific literature, the variety is mentioned in the context of research into susceptibility to bacterial spot caused by Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni.
