Red Haven
ActivePrunus persica (L.) Batsch · Peach
Stat Exp South Haven (US)
10 August 2026
The variety is classified as mid-late, with fruit ripening occurring in early August, approximately 12 days later than the 'Redhaven' variety. The tree is vigorous and spreading, reaching a height of 3–5 meters depending on the rootstock and crown formation method.
The fruits are large to very large in size and have a rounded shape. The skin is light green-yellow with a crimson-red overcolor on 40–70% of the surface. The flesh is yellow, firm, sweet, with low acidity; the pit separates well but is prone to splitting.
The variety has moderate resistance to bacterial leaf spot and is characterized by good winter hardiness. The fruit flesh does not darken for a long time after cutting, which allows the crop to be used for freezing and canning.
