The variety was introduced into cultivation in 1955 and was classified in 1950s documentation as belonging to the group of mid-season varieties known as "July" varieties. The intended use of the variety is fresh consumption (table peach).
In the 1970s, the variety was mentioned in European Union regulatory documents as a product involved in trade alongside varieties such as Elberta, Southland, and Redhaven. Specialized descriptions of tree morphological traits or disease resistance indicators are absent.
