Lesiberian is a clonal rootstock that is not intended for the production of commercial peach fruit. Its functional purpose is to serve as a base for grafting peach varieties and, in a number of scientific studies, apricot.
In agronomic trials, this rootstock demonstrates specific indicators of graft compatibility and tree vigor. In studies on stone fruit diseases, it was noted that the rootstock shows susceptibility to ESFY phytoplasma, which is accompanied by reddening and premature leaf drop, and it has also been used in the study of Plum pox virus infection.
