The variety is a population cultivar formed under conditions of folk selection. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and is described as a rustic variety possessing relative hardiness to climatic conditions.
The fruits ripen in the first half of September and are characterized by their large size. In shape, they resemble a nipple, from which the variety received its name. The fruit flesh is white, aromatic and very juicy; the skin has a whitish-green shade with a red blush.
The primary use of the fruits is for fresh consumption. Given that the variety was historically propagated by seed, the characteristics of individual plants may vary slightly.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
