The variety was developed as part of the University of Florida breeding program by crossing Panamint and FLA9-10. It is intended for cultivation in regions with low chilling requirements for fresh market sales.
The fruits are characterized by large size and good flavor; however, the variety has insufficient flesh firmness, which leads to rapid softening. Studies noted a tendency for late fruit ripening, which creates competition with other varieties, and unsatisfactory results in some subtropical zones.
