The variety is a tree up to 4 meters tall with a crown width of about 3 meters. The fruits are medium to small in size, round in shape, and have grayish pubescence on the skin. A distinctive feature is the deep red juicy flesh with a pronounced aroma and flavor with notes of forest berries.
The variety belongs to the late-ripening group: fruits ripen in August or September. The tree withstands frosts down to -15°C, however, due to early flowering, the flowers are vulnerable to spring frosts. The plant is susceptible to leaf curl and needs regular pruning.
The fruits are used fresh and for processing into jams or compotes. Previously, the variety was often planted next to vineyards as an indicator plant for the early detection of grape diseases.
