Variety description

The Shani-Yonay variety was selected during a study of local Israeli seedlings of unknown origin at the Newe-Ya’ar center. The fruits of the variety are distinguished by a sweet taste and soft seeds, which provides them with commercial appeal for fresh produce markets.
The plant is early-ripening; fruit ripening under Israeli conditions occurs in the last third of August, which allows harvesting significantly earlier than the Wonderful variety. The variety is characterized by high productivity and is intended for commercial cultivation.
