The variety is a chance seedling, characterized by very early ripening dates: commercial fruit maturity occurs around September 11, which is significantly earlier than the 'Wonderful' variety. The plant has a bushy habit and reaches a height of up to 3.6 meters; it can be trained into a single-trunk tree.

The fruits are distinguished by an attractive bright red skin color and high juice content. A key feature of the variety is the very soft seeds, which are easy to chew. The variety is characterized by cold hardiness corresponding to hardiness zones 7–10.
