The variety is intended for summer cultivation as an intermediate crop. It is characterized by intensive accumulation of vegetative mass at the initial growth stage and a low to medium tendency to flower.

An important characteristic is resistance to the beet cyst nematode, which allows the plant to be used in crop rotations with sugar beet to reduce the population of the pest. The variety also limits the reproduction of Meloidogyne chitwoodi nematodes.

The plant is used as a green manure for suppressing weeds, preventing soil erosion, improving soil structure, and preventing nitrate leaching.
