The Radar variety belongs to annual plants that develop a powerful taproot system, which contributes to effective soil loosening. The plant does not form a root crop.

This variety is used as a green manure to improve soil structure and suppress weeds, and is also used for fodder production and as a honey plant during periods when other flowering crops are absent.
