The variety is used as an intermediate crop to improve soil structure and control erosion. Due to its deep root system and rapid development of above-ground biomass, it provides effective soil surface coverage.

The plant has a medium to low tendency to flower. The variety is sensitive to frost, which ensures its reliable winterkill and facilitates subsequent soil tillage.
