The variety Kačina belongs to the group of Japanese azaleas and was obtained as a result of crossing the varieties Kermesinum and Profesor Jeršov. The plant is characterized by a medium growth rate, forming an almost rounded shrub about 60 cm high and 65 cm wide after 10 years.

The leaves of the shrub are light green or medium green in color, which changes to orange and red tones by autumn. The flowers are about 4 cm in size and are pinkish-red in color. Flowering begins early, usually in early May.
