The Glenton Green variety, also known by the synonym York Seedling, is a historic British gooseberry variety known before the early 20th century. The crop is characterized by small to medium-sized berries that have an elongated shape, tapering at the base.
The fruits are covered with a rather thick skin with pronounced pubescence and characteristic whitish veins. In modern botanical and phytopathological materials, this variety is classified as having resistance to white pine blister rust.
