The Kirdeikiai variety was bred at the Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture and Vegetable Growing as a result of crossing the Finik and Chernyj Negus varieties. The plant is included in the national plant genetic resources of Lithuania.
The variety belongs to the second resistance group, exhibiting tolerance to powdery mildew and low susceptibility to leaf spot. Cuttings of this variety show high results during rooting.
