The Rubella rose bred by de Ruiter (1972) belongs to the floribunda group. The plant forms an upright bush 0.5–1 meter in height. The flowers are dark red, without a pronounced fragrance; the variety is multiflorous.

The Rubyella variety (often mistakenly referred to as Rubella) is a spray rose (patio). The compact bush 50–80 cm in height forms inflorescences of 5–15 double flowers 4–7 cm in size. The petal color is raspberry-red with a yellow reverse; the fragrance is weak.

Rubyella is characterized by resistance to diseases and frost (USDA zone 6). The variety is suitable for cutting, bordering, flower beds, and container cultivation.
