Variety description

The variety forms strong, fairly upright and branching canes of a light yellow-brown color. The plant reaches a height of 1–1.2 m, and the canes are covered with a small number of sturdy bristles. The variety is considered hardy and capable of withstanding cold.

The berries are large in size, ranging in shape from blunt-conical to round, and are distinguished by a rich taste and aroma. At harvest, the fruits may be prone to detaching along with the receptacle. The berries are suitable for fresh consumption and for processing, in particular for making jams.

In a number of regions, including Sweden, the variety is found under the name Asker, which is considered an improved version or a local selection of the classic Fastolf.
