The plant is a densely branched shrub up to 65 cm tall. The oval leaves can retain their green color during the winter depending on growing conditions. The flowers are gathered in terminal raceme inflorescences, and their color varies from dark pink or cherry to pale pink shades.

The flowering period lasts from late spring or early summer to autumn. The variety exhibits resistance to heat and drought but requires covering in regions with cold winters. The plant is often classified as a hybrid form rather than a pure species of Salvia greggii.
