The plant is a compact, upright, densely branched shrub of rounded shape, 30–36 cm in height and 35–41 cm in width. The foliage is small, oval, dark green in color, and possesses a fragrance.
The flowers are of a deep wine-burgundy shade with dark calyxes and are gathered into raceme-like inflorescences. Flowering begins in early spring and continues until autumn frosts.
The variety possesses high resistance to heat, drought, and lodging. Hardiness zones 7a–9b; however, in regions with colder climates, the plant can be grown as an annual.
