Krajová is a perennial subshrub with a height of 0.5–1.0 meters with erect quadrangular stems. The leaves are elliptical, finely serrated and wrinkled, grey-green on top, and white-tomentose on the underside. The plant blooms in June–July with dark purple flowers collected in terminal inflorescences.

The variety is a traditional form historically developed in the region. It is distinguished by the content of thujone and essential oils suitable for pharmaceutical use. The plant is thermophilic and relatively drought-tolerant, preferring sunny sites with permeable soil.

Research has revealed issues with pollen fertility in this variety, which often prevents the formation of full seeds in seed crops. The life cycle in plantations with proper care is 6–8 years.
