Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety was created using recurrent selection to obtain essential oil and sclareol, used in perfumery and cosmetics. Its introduction contributed to an increase in yield by more than 30%.

Unlike the Scalia variety, Toscalia lacks the undesirable late-flowering phenotype, although flowering dates still remain a subject for further improvement. Data on resistance to diseases or lodging, as well as morphological indicators, such as plant height, are not detailed.
