The variety is a biennial plant; however, studies show the possibility of growing it as an overwintered annual when sown in autumn. The plant is heliophilous and prefers well-drained calcareous soils.
The variety is sensitive to severe frosts during snowless winters, especially in the first year of growth. Excessive nitrogen fertilization can reduce the plant's winter hardiness.
The industrial purpose of the variety is due to the high-quality composition of its essential oil, which is used in the food industry as a flavoring agent for wines, vermouths, and liqueurs, as well as in perfumery and cosmetics.
